The battle for the Bloody Plains has entered a new phase - the commanders for each side are tougher than ever before, and True General Wei has received a power boost as befitting his increased treasure hoard.
Meanwhile in the great outdoors, baneful botanicals erupt from the very soil. Heroes brave enough to trim these hellish hedges can claim some exclusive rewards.
Black vs White War - Renewed
Each week, the call rings out for members of the Imperial (White Band) and Infernal (Black Band) clans to converge in Bloody Plains, the site of the last battle of the War of Nine Dragons, and engaged in the Black vs White War. Each side must defend its respective commanders (Hermit of South Sea and Overlord of North Sea) from the other, while striking at the enemy leader. The first side to fell the other’s commander wins the honour of facing the True General Wei on the deepest floor of the Cave of Conqueror, and the chance to loot his treasure hoard.

With this update, the overall challenge and rewards of the BvW War event have risen to a level befitting the Land’s heroes.
Both the Black and White commanders are much tougher than before, and it will require a sustained assault to take them down while keeping your own commander safe. True General Wei has bulked up and won’t be so easily shrugged aside, either. Furthermore, he’s recruited some help, and can now call a hit squad them partway through the battle. You’ll need to clear out the General’s retinue before you can end the battle.

Once the General falls, 30 Conqueror’s Braziers will appear as they did before, but their contents have been upgraded as befitting the greater challenge. Some higher-level materials have been added, and outdated rewards have been removed. You’ll still be able to claim the Soul of General Wei.

Tree Demon Infestation
Warring over a desolate plain for the right to muck about in a dusty tomb might not appeal to you, so there’s still some refreshing carnage to be found in the great outdoors. Rumours are circulating of swarms of woody Penghou demons arising from the soil in Liaodong, North Sea, Tibet, and Kunlun.
If there's a bustle in your hedgerow, be alarmed now.
When slain, Penghou will provide Tainted Heartwood pieces, with Penghou in higher-level maps producing more pieces on average. Tainted Heartwood can be traded with Seo Hwarang in Hefei for the listed rewards.
One of the prizes is the new Heavenly Garden Tender's Outfit – a gift from the heavens for stopping the Penghou before they infest the pristine gardens of the gods.
Periodic farting is a feature, not a bug.
As a special feature for the launch of the Black vs White War, you can pick up a daily quest from your clan allegiance’s respective Hermit in Bloody Plain. All you have to do is engage in combat with the other side’s commander during the event, and you’ll be rewarded with 10 Tainted Heartwood pieces.
Penghou will burst from the ground in all four of the event maps at regular intervals. They are found throughout each map in set locations, and prefer sticking by trees, so you probably won’t find any outside Potala or in North Sea’s crevasse. Liaodong’s docks seem to be close enough for them, though.

A trading ship returning from Qingdao has run aground and lost its cargo. Bad news for them, good for you! Sapphire Trading Company Salvage contains one of many possible varieties of fine Qingdao trade goods, and at only 30 NDC per unit, it’s priced to move.
The Qingdao Weapon and Clothing Vouchers can be redeemed by Festival Student Bag Hwar in Hefei for your choice of Dark Shadow Sapphire weapon or True Gold or Mountain Cloud clothing item, respectively.
The Qingdao Weapon Voucher (30 Days) can be exchanged for a box containing a temporary Dark Shadow Sapphire weapon, which has four ornament slots and has already been refined to +15. These temporary weapons cannot be traded or stored. The voucher and box are permanent, and the weapon's 30 day duration does not begin until the box is opened.
The Dark Ghost Blood Sorcerer's Clothes Box contains a random Dark Ghost Blood Sorcerer clothing item. The Qingdao Luxury Goods Crate and Qingdao Fabric Crate are both stuffed to capacity with Qingdao crafting materials.
